On September 24, 2024, Deutsche Bahn (DB) presented the DB Supplier Innovation Award for the 5th time. Dr. Richard Lutz, CEO of DB, honoured Manitou Deutschland GmbH as a well-deserved winner. The innovation? A system for GPS-assisted cable laying directly in the track environment during ongoing rail operations, based on a specialized chain loader.

Applications are expected to be possible from autumn 2025, regardless of whether you are already a DB supplier or not. The focus is purely on your innovative ability with regard to the following assessment criteria:
- Degree of innovation and uniqueness
- Added value and contribution to earnings
- Potential for application and ease of integrability
- Sustainability and environmental protection
